A process to scan for over 1,300 protein analytes in biological material by attaching a chemically modified nucleotide to a native protein that can then be read. SomaScan Platform, made by SomaLogic, can process serum, plasma, cerebrospinal fluid, urine, or other equally small amounts of biological matrices, such as lysates.

Thermo Fisher-CytoScan HD

GTAC@MGI  performs high-resolution genome-wide DNA copy number analysis. The combined high-resolution DNA copy number data and the ability to detect gains, losses, and UPDs on a single array makes the CytoScan™ HD Array Solution a great tool for next-generation cytogenetics studies.

The Chromosome Analysis Suite (ChAS) software for cytogenetic analysis enables you to view and summarize chromosomal aberrations across the genome. Chromosomal aberrations may include copy number gain or loss, mosaicism, or loss of heterozygosity (LOH).

Illumina

Infinium HD Assays

Infinium Methylation Assays

Illumina provides arrays/kits for human, mouse, and has a custom option as well.  For human,  the Infinium EPIC array can screen over 850,000 methylation sites quantitatively across the genome at single-nucleotide resolution. Samples are prepared using Illumina’s Infinium HD Assay. DNA samples must first undergo bi-sulfite conversion in our laboratory.

Expression Microarray Platform 

GTAC@MGI has multiple tools that can be used to detect the expression of thousands of genes at the same time.  This is accomplished by using slides with attached defined probes that allow for hybridization of cDNA and labels.   A color-based scan will provide data on the relative quantity of each gene was expressed.

Samples are prepared using WT Pico or WT Plus.  As little as 100 pg of total RNA can be used. This strategy can be used with partially degraded or FFPE RNA.

  • GeneChip 2.0
  • Clariom S, for gene-level expression profiling of well-annotated genes.
  • Clariom D for deep and broad transcriptome analysis and biomarker discovery.
  • miRNA -Flash tag contains content to screen for all mature miRs from miRBase Release 20,  this assay can be successful with samples exhibiting RNA degradation.
